Intersolar South America 2025 has officially opened its doors, bringing together global leaders in solar innovation. Huasun Energy, a pioneer in heterojunction (HJT) technology, is once again taking the stage with its latest high-efficiency photovoltaic solutions. The company is highlighting breakthroughs tailored to meet the challenges of Brazil’s hot and humid climate, reaffirming its long-term commitment to the local market.
A Fertile Ground for Solar Growth
With more than 3,000 hours of annual sunshine and an average horizontal irradiation of around 1,700 kWh/m², Brazil offers ideal conditions for solar power. Combined with abundant land and rooftop resources, the country is well-positioned for solar deployment. According to the 2025-2029 Energy Operation Plan released in July by Brazil’s National System Operator (ONS), the combined share of utility-scale and distributed solar in the electricity mix is projected to rise from 22.2% in December 2024 to 32.9% by the end of 2029. Over the same period, installed capacity is expected to grow from 51.7 GW to 88.2 GW. Against this backdrop, HJT technology, with its superior efficiency and proven reliability under intense heat, is becoming a key driver of Brazil’s sustainable solar growth.
G12-132 High-Efficiency HJT Modules for Utility-Scale Projects
At the center of Huasun’s showcase is the Himalaya Series G12-132 module, designed specifically for utility-scale projects. By the end of this year, the module will reach a commercial power output of 760 W and a conversion efficiency of 24.5%, generating about 3% more daily power than same-format TOPCon modules. With its superior temperature coefficient of -0.24%/°C, the Himalaya ensures stable generation in Brazil’s hot climate, helping projects maximize long-term yields and economic returns.
Vertical PV: Dual-Peak Generation for Higher Returns
Another highlight is the Kunlun G12R-132 vertical module, a standout innovation with nearly 100% bifaciality that significantly boosts rear-side power generation. Its vertical installation improves land-use efficiency while enabling integration in scenarios such as agriculture, transportation, and buildings. The module’s dual-peak power generation profile aligns with high-value electricity pricing periods in the early morning and late afternoon, creating additional revenue streams for project owners while easing grid transmission pressure and supporting a more stable power system.
Powering Brazil’s Distributed Solar Market Growth with Reliability
With distributed generation capacity in Brazil projected to grow by 20% in 2025, according to the Brazilian Association of Distributed Generation (ABGD), Huasun presented the Everest G12R-108 module, tailored to this expanding market. Featuring EVA, light conversion film, butyl adhesive, and glass-glass design, the module is engineered to withstand UV-induced degradation, guaranteeing ≤1% first-year degradation and ≥90.3% power output retention over 30 years. This makes it a solid foundation for long-term distributed projects.
Strengthening Local Presence through Strong Partnerships
During the exhibition, Huasun Energy signed a framework agreement with Brazilian energy company Araxá Engenharia for the supply of heterojunction (HJT) solar modules. The agreement was signed by Patrick Li, Vice President of Huasun, and Aires Vital Régis Júnior, Head of Supply Chain at Araxá.
With over 12 years of experience in renewable energy engineering, Araxá specializes in project development and EPC contracting, with a portfolio spanning transportation, environmental services, energy storage, natural gas, and green hydrogen. The company also delivers integrated energy solutions across Latin America. Under this agreement, Huasun will provide high-efficiency HJT modules for Araxá’s solar projects in Brazil, enhancing project performance and supporting the expansion of clean energy supply. This partnership marks a major step in Huasun’s localized strategy in Brazil and reinforces its long-term commitment to the country and the wider Latin American market.
Innovative Vertical Installation: Gaining International Recognition
Vinícius Luiz, Country Manager of Huasun Brazil, was invited to deliver a keynote speech on The smarter E Innovation & Application Stage, where he shared insights on the advanced applications of the Kunlun vertical modules in agri-PV and other scenarios, supported by real-world case studies showcasing their ability to significantly boost project revenues.
The Kunlun series also earned a place as a finalist in The smarter E AWARD 2025 in the photovoltaics category. Known as the “Oscars of the energy industry,” this award is among the most prestigious international honors in the solar sector. The recognition underscores Huasun’s global leadership in HJT technology and further strengthens its pioneering role in vertical PV solutions.
At Intersolar South America, Huasun demonstrated both its technological strength and innovation capacity. With the Himalaya, Kunlun, and Everest series, Huasun provides comprehensive solutions for utility-scale and distributed projects, reflecting deep insight into Brazil’s solar market and a clear strategic commitment to the region.
