At the recent High-Efficiency Solar Technologies 2025 Webinar, Christian Comes, Director of European Business Development at Huasun Energy, presented Huasun’s latest mass-produced Himalaya Plus 760HV heterojunction (HJT) module together with its 2000V system solution. Featuring 760W output, 24.5% efficiency, and an industry-leading 2000V system voltage, the new product marks a shift in PV competition toward system-level value optimization.

Mature Processes Enable Ultra-High Active Area Ratio
Christian Comes emphasized that technological advancement is moving beyond standalone power gains toward system efficiency optimization.

The Himalaya Plus 760HV integrates large-format wafers and negative spacing technology, increasing cell area by 2.1%, boosting module power by 20W, and improving efficiency by 0.66%, with an active area ratio reaching 95.8%. This enables simultaneous gains in power density and conversion efficiency. The module retains a proven 132 half-cell design, requiring only minimal production line adjustments for rapid mass manufacturing—balancing technological leadership with manufacturing cost efficiency.
2000V System Reshapes Cost Structure
The key highlight of the launch is the large-scale application of a 2000V system voltage. Detailed calculations show that higher voltage fundamentally reshapes PV project economics.

For a 100MW project in Hami, Xinjiang, Northwest China, compared with a mainstream 1500V TOPCon solution, the 2000V HJT 760W system reduces initial investment by approximately 2.1 US cents/W, including a BOS cost reduction of about 1.6 US cents/W. “Upgrading system voltage changes DC-side design logic,” said Comes. “With higher string voltage, up to 36 modules per string are possible, reducing pile foundations by 15.73%, DC cable usage by 23.87%, and improving land utilization by 4.17%.”

Overall, BOS costs are reduced by around 11.95%, while project IRR increases by 0.86%, unlocking new value for PV investors.
Butyl Encapsulation Ensures High-Voltage Reliability
To meet the stricter insulation requirements of 2000V systems, Huasun introduced a proprietary butyl-based, void-free edge-sealing technology. Through material and process innovation, the solution limits creepage distance to 12mm while fully complying with IEC TS 62993:2017, without compromising module performance—achieving both electrical safety and energy yield reliability under ultra-high system voltage.

The Himalaya Plus 760HV module is already in large-scale mass production, with capacity expected to reach 4GW per quarter by Q4 2026. The module has completed compatibility validation with mainstream global inverters, mounting systems, and O&M equipment, enabling rapid deployment worldwide.
