Huasun Heterojunction Full-scenario Solution 04: Freezing Temperatures - 16% More Energy Yield

2025/02/12

In Mohe, China's northernmost point, Huasun heterojunction (HJT) modules must demonstrate their ability to thrive under the most extreme conditions. In winter 2024, we rigorously tested Huasun HJT modules at CTC's Mohe Outdoor Empirical Base to validate their output power and reliability under extreme cold conditions.

01 Freezing Temperatures

Mohe's harsh winters and limited sunlight present significant challenges for solar modules, requiring high reliability and efficiency under extreme conditions.

At the CTC's Mohe Outdoor Empirical Base, we tested four types of solar modules including 210 HJT, 210 TOPCon, 182 BC, and 210 PERC over a three-month period to gather performance data for analysis.

02 Superior Performance

Even as most of China stayed above freezing, Mohe was already experiencing a sharp -36°C. By analyzing key data such as DC voltage/current, module temperature, irradiance, and ambient temperature, this project delivered exceptional insights into how HJT technology outperforms.

From October 1 to December 31, 2024, Huasun HJT modules had achieved a daily gain of over 16% compared to PERC, BC, and TOPCon modules, despite snow accumulation on the surfaces.

03 Optimized Customer Returns

The Mohe empirical base highlights Huasun HJT modules' exceptional performance in extreme cold conditions, setting a new benchmark for reliability.
